EMBED - Embedding Dyslexia-Responsive Practices in Lifelong Learning is an international project to support the dyslexic individual all over Europe.

The aim is to promote better dyslexia provision in education, vocational training systems and in employment. The project  is funded by the European Commission in the framework of the  Lifelong Learning Programme.

The project target groups are:

  • Schools
  • Parents of dyslexic children
  • Dyslexic people
  • Association in the field of Dyslexia
  • Public bodies


The specific outcomes made available through the Embed project Portal are:

1) Dyslexia Identification On-Line Test addressed to parents and teachers willing to identify possible dyslexia related problems in their children or pupils.

2) Teachers and Parents Dyslexia Needs and Audit tool designed to assist in the identification of existing knowledge and awareness of dyslexia related issues of  teachers and of parents of dyslexic children.

3) Dyslexia Support Training Tool, e-Book designed for teachers and parents to identify key competencies for supporting dyslexic individuals.

4) Report on the Needs and Expectations of Parents of dyslexic children  and of Teachers having dyslexic children among their pupils.

5) Adult Dyslexia Needs and Audit tool designed to assist in the identification of existing knowledge and awareness of dyslexia related issues of  adult trainers and of dyslexic adults.

6) Adult Dyslexia Test designed to carry out online self-screening. Although not a full assessment tool (since an assessment is for specialists), this test allows an informal assessment of dyslexia.

7) Dyslexia Guide for Adults e-book giving an overview of all the important dyslexia related issues that might come across to dyslexic individuals or supporting ones.

8) Information about the results of previous dyslexia related projects.

9) Technology to support Dyslexic Individuals that has been developed throughout Europe mainly, but not exclusively, in the framework of previous and current EU’s funded projects.

10) ICT Needs identification and support tool designed to assist in the identification of technology needs for dyslexic individuals and to identify key competencies to support them in the application of ICT. 

11) An analysis of the existing policies in the area of promotion of integration of dyslexic individuals into education and training pathways at national level in the project partner countries
